Alto and Gab
Who runs this and what that means
Alto is built and operated by Gab AI Inc., the same company behind Gab Social, Gab AI, and Dissenter. We would rather you hear that from us than work it out later: Alto has a point of view, and it comes from somewhere.
What that does not mean is that the news here is ours. Alto aggregates independent publishers who have no affiliation with Gab and mostly do not know we exist. Carrying an outlet is not an endorsement of it, and outlets that contradict each other are carried side by side on purpose. Every headline links back to the publisher that wrote it so you can judge the source directly.
Commercial relationships never decide what gets surfaced. Story ranking uses recency, publisher cadence, and reader attention — never payment, and never whether a story flatters Gab. The methodology page spells out exactly how ranking works, and editorial standards covers corrections and independence.
Where Gab shows up in Alto
AI analysis on some stories is generated by Gab AI and labeled as such — see the AI policy for where it does and does not appear. Articles offer a “Discuss on Gab” link, and the footer links our sibling properties. That is the extent of it.
You never need a Gab account
Alto requires no login to read anything, and every link to a Gab property is optional. Reading Alto does not create a Gab account, connect you to one, or share your reading with one.
