The V2 responds directly to the feedback that made the original work but less than it could have. The most visible change is the shift to capped turrets. The original used low-profile exposed adjustments that traded zero protection for tool-free convenience.

That's a workable tradeoff until you're yanking the rifle into a truck bed or working cover during training and your zero walks. The V2 caps those turrets, making the optic more honest about what it is: a setup you zero once and leave alone.
