Nevada residents who want to play Powerball or Mega Millions typically cross into a neighboring state that sells tickets. Anyone physically present in a participating state may buy a ticket and claim a prize there, regardless of where they live.

Powerball is drawn Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 PM ET; Mega Millions is drawn Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 PM ET. The winning numbers are the same in every participating state.
