This is Alto's whole premise as a utility. Aggregating hundreds of publishers is only useful if you can see them against each other, and a normal search results page ranked by relevance hides exactly that comparison.
Each card is one outlet's most recent headline matching your topic, newest outlets first. Where a publisher has covered the story more than once, the second-most-recent headline appears beneath the first. Word choice, what gets named in the headline, and what gets left out are usually where the differences show up.
Alto does not tag these outlets as left, right, or center. Any such label is a contestable editorial judgment, and attaching one would turn a neutral comparison into a scoring system readers would be right to argue with. The headlines are shown plainly and attributed to their publisher, and readers draw their own conclusions.
Alto links to each publisher's original reporting and hosts none of it. Appearing in a comparison is not an endorsement of an outlet or its accuracy, and absence is not a judgment either — it usually just means that publisher has not covered the topic recently.
